How do you say "Thank you for inviting my wife and I this evening? in German.

Although, grammatically, this should read “my wife and me” this evening. “Wife and me” takes the objective case. You would likely not easily make the mistake of saying “Thanks for inviting I,” but for some reason once a subject or object is compounded, people start to slip up where “overcorrection” is as much trouble as anything else.
