Hi,
How to say when I did something with another person? Should I use xxx and I or xxx and myself?
e.g.
John and I went to town. or John and myself went to town.

"Xxx and I..." is standard. The "-self" pronouns are reflexive pronouns, used when the subject and object of a verb or preposition are the same: "I gave that nickname to myself" rather than "I gave that nickname to me", for example.
(Sometimes they're used jocularly---"Herself and I went to the opera"---but that's uncommon usage.)
Agreed. You should NOT use “myself” in these instances, unless you are specifically intending to conform to a vernacular in which overuse of reflexive pronouns is common, of which there are at least a few. Overuse of reflexives is often a marker for “low” (or “less privileged”), typically urban, speech.
